Do I legally need a fire alarm?
For most commercial buildings, hotels and houses of multiple occupation: yes. Single-family homes generally need smoke detectors per state law (Rauchwarnmelderpflicht). We can tell you exactly which standard applies after a 15-min site visit.
Can detectors be retrofitted without ripping out ceilings?
Usually yes. We use a mix of low-profile cable routing, surface conduit and wireless detectors. Most retrofits leave plaster untouched.
How often does it need testing?
Quarterly visual + functional check, full annual inspection. We schedule and document all of it under one maintenance contract.
Will false alarms be a problem?
Multi-criteria detectors and zone tuning eliminate almost all of them. We run a 30-day soak test on every commission to catch any nuisance triggers.
